OSTIV Speaker: "Neuroscience of Safety"
A glider pilot since 1983, Safety Officer for Great Lakes Gliding since 2003, and now the Soaring Association of Canada (SAC) Safety Officer, David Donaldson is a keen student of safety. Professionally a corporate facilitator focusing on project management and leadership, David studies risk management (among other topics) and the ever present human element.
With over 25 years’ experience as a facilitator and speaker, David is known for his lively and engaging sessions. He has a well-honed skill of delivering complex topics in a way that makes them understandable and actionable.
David’s ongoing commitment to training and development is a passion. When not in a corporate setting, he can be found volunteering his time training pilots and working with horses. The lessons learned in these arenas are translated back into the training environment for a truly rich and unique learning experience.
In addition to holding his Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, David also has his Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation from the Institute for Performance and Learning. He recently completed his Master’s Certificate in Adult Training and Development, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to development for himself and for his students.
“We spend our entire lives learning and growing. There is no greater joy for me than knowing that I have had a positive influence on an individual or group as I help them work through transitions and growth.”
