Topic: "Design Philosophy for the New Ventus"
Christoph Wannenmacher, born in Germany on November 16, 1974, started gliding at the age of 14 at his local Aeroclub Greding. He studied aeronautical engineering at the University of Stuttgart, where he continued his soaring at Akaflieg Stuttgart. Upon graduation in 2004, he joined Schempp-Hirth Flugzeugbau as member of their design team.
He has competed in various German National and European soaring competitions, including the 2009 German Nationals double-seater class, as co-pilot of Christof Geissler, where they won the championship, flying the Schempp-Hirth Arcus Prototype.
Christoph is one of the four engineers of Schempp-Hirth’s development team responsible for the design of the Arcus and the new Ventus.
