Bill Daniels is a retired aerospace engineer who spent most of his career in the computer industry. He first flew gliders 60 years ago from a winch. Since then he has acquired more than 6,000 hours in glider and another 6,000 in airplanes. He holds a FAI Diamond Badge and FAA pilot certificates for Commercial Glider and Airplane Multi-Engine with an Instrument rating. He has written extensively on winch launch with many articles published in Soaring Magazine.
