“What was he thinking?”

Is that part of your conversation after hearing about a soaring accident? This is where this presentation will begin.

The NTSB is tasked with responsibility for analyzing fatal aviation accidents in the US. Glider pilots have long been dissatisfied with “hardware answers” and the catch-phrase of “loss of control” in NTSB final reports. We seek the specialized perspective of soaring operations and meteorology’s interaction in soaring losses. This review of recent fatalities will offer a glider instructor’s perspective and an opportunity to compare these to your personal soaring flights.

“What happened to those pilots that I can avoid?”

“What guidelines can I use to avoid being hurt”

This presentation gets you to ask: “How do I think about my soaring recreation”

How can you avoid the same pitfalls? Come participate and find out; and know that this will be a respectful recollection about some soaring friends now gone.
