CHIDEKEL, Phil

Four recent high-altitude flights in the vicinity of the Catskill Mountains have demonstrated that soarable wave conditions are both common and predictable in southern New York. While this area has generated several high-altitude flights in the past 70 years, no one systematically analyzed
the wave conditions and the topography that creates them. We demonstrated that through the use of SkySight and other meteorological tools, Catskill wave can be forecasted and predictably exploited.
