TMGs: Where Freedom Reigns
Richard has been flying gliders since 1977 and has accumulated 1,600 glider hours, 725 hours in his Grob 109 touring motor glider, and 45 hours in fixed wing aircraft. He is a CFI-G with about 1,000 hours of instruction given.
He was president of Soar Truckee, Inc., the commercial glider port at Truckee, California, for 10 years and was instrumental into converting that operation into the new non-profit glider FBO at Truckee, the Truckee-Tahoe Soaring Association.
Richard was the founder of the Grob 109 Association and is now Executive Director of the Touring Motor Glider Association, a web-based group of touring motor glider enthusiasts currently numbering 1,100 members in 46 countries. Through the TMGA he has flown in South Africa, Germany, and Israel.
Richard was Executive Director of the 2017 Lincoln Air Show and is the chair of the Lincoln Regional Airport Committee.
