What the NTSB Will Never Say: 2016-2017 Five Glider Fatal Accidents
Cindy Brickner is a flight instructor since the early ’90s. She ran a glider flight school for twenty years with a no-injury accident record by her students and renters. She has flown student-du-jour dual contest training flights, wave or thermal cross-country training flights, done ridge-soaring on the Sierra Nevadas (with teeth clenched and pin-prick vigilance), and set seven US National soaring records. Cindy began soaring as a teenager, winch-launched with a club, flew a couple self-launchers, and towed at her FBO, safaris, and contests. Cindy became the first female jet-launched glider type-rated rated pilot in the US in 2016. Cindy has served for fifteen years as an SSA Director, including stints as Secretary and Vice-Chair. She has been speaking on soaring safety and pilot decision-making at conventions and regional meetings for over two decades. She is available for individual or clinic-style training at your site.
