An Evolving Launch Crisis in the US
Bill Daniels is a retired aerospace engineer who spent most of his career in the computer industry. He first flew gliders in 1959 from a winch and ultimately acquired more than 6,000 hours in glides and about as much in airplanes. He holds an FAI Diamond Badge and FAA pilot certificates for commercial glider and airplane with instructor, instrument, and multi-engine ratings. He has written extensively on winch launch with many articles published in Soaring Magazine.
